House hunters in Glasgow could save time and money when they buy a brand new Redrow home at Route 1 West.

The award-winning housebuilder has calculated that it could cost up to £30,000 to bring an older three-bedroom property up to the same high standard of one of its new homes. And with a choice of three-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom homes available, Route 1 West in Anniesland is the ideal choice for those who want to ditch the DIY.

Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), commented: “At Redrow we pride ourselves in building quality homes that people really want to live in and the properties at Route 1 West are no exception. Easy to maintain and efficient to run, they’re ideal for people who are tired of wasting their time and money on costly repairs and renovations that an older property may need.

“The message is simple: why buy an older property and then invest time, money and energy in renovating it, when you could buy a brand new home with the latest statement making kitchens and sleek modern bathrooms?”

Kitchens at Route 1 West enjoy the convenience of integrated top brand name appliances, plus tall units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage; while bathrooms and en-suites boast quality fixtures and fittings.

“The cost of installing one of our fabulous kitchens including the same high quality fixtures, fittings and appliances in an older property would be around £6,000, plus you would have the inconvenience of not being able to use your kitchen while the work is carried out,” Mary explained.

Among the homes available at Route 1 West is the four-bedroom ‘Luss’, on the market at £265,000.

Set out over three floors, it offers a flexible solution to modern family living.

On the ground floor there’s a family room plus combined kitchen-diner with French doors leading to the garden. The lounge and master bedroom, complete with en-suite, are on the first floor; with the remaining three bedrooms, including en-suite to bedroom two, plus the family bathroom up on the top floor.

“Buyers may choose to utilise the ground floor family room as a play room or home office, allowing parents to work from home or children to complete their homework away from distraction. Alternatively it could be used as TV lounge, while those who don’t need all four bedrooms could choose to utilise the fourth bedroom as a study. It’s about making your home work for you and not the other way around,” Mary added.

For those who want somewhere smaller there’s a choice of two and three-bedroom apartments, on the market from £160,000.
