The Pilgrim's Way in Spain

‘The Way’, which is released on Friday, sees Martin Sheen co-starring with his son, Emilio Estevez, who also wrote and directed the film.

Whilst Sheen’s character completes the 500-mile trek on foot, luxury tour operator, Cox & Kings, has introduced a more relaxed, self-drive alternative staying in luxury parador hotels, including two of Spain’s finest: Hostal San Marcos in Leon and the Hostal Dos Reis Catolicos in Santiago de Compostela.

Following in the footsteps of those who travelled from all over Christendom to venerate the tomb of the Apostle St James in Santiago de Compostela, this 9-day / 8-night self-drive itinerary, The Pilgrims Road to Santiago, travels through contrasting rural landscapes, passing ancient villages and Romanesque chapels and churches en route. Staying for two nights in each of Bilbao, Burgos, Leon and Santiago de Compostela, the trip is priced from £1,295 per person and includes flights from London Heathrow, airport transfers, 7 days car hire and 8 nights accommodation with breakfast daily.

Cox & Kings organises luxury tours and private tailor-made travel to Spain.
