A housing development in Swallownest is pushing all the right buttons for househunters – with first time buyers, upsizers and downsizers all finding their perfect home.

Aston Park, off High Street, gives a sunny outlook in the current property climate, where young first time buyers have saved up a deposit and have no trouble securing a mortgage, bucking the national trend.

Anne Bagshaw, Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire sales and marketing director comments: “Although we offer many deals to help first time buyers get onto the property market, we have found that in Swallownest many first time buyers have saved up a substantial deposit and have put themselves in good stead to get approval on a mortgage application.”

The development has also proven to be a haven for those trading up, thanks to the part exchange scheme which means that the buyer does not have to sell their current home on the open market.

Anne continues: “For many people looking to sell their current home, the thought of having to put it on the market and worry about being caught in a chain is very off putting and stressful. With part exchange, we become their cash buyer, so they are free to get excited about their move. We also pay estate agents’ fees, removing another costly part of moving house.”

Furthermore, “empty-nesters” - those whose children have grown up and left home - are heading to Aston Park to find a well-priced, low maintenance property.

Anne adds: “We have many buyers who are looking for a smaller home because their children have grown up and moved out and their house feels too big for them. Buying a new build home reduces the effort needed on maintaining and upkeeping the home, for example DIY jobs will be at a minimum and only decorating works will need to be carried out. The extra money saved on the mortgage and on day to day repairs is free for the buyer to use as they please and often means they can go on holiday or go out and enjoy themselves more.”

With so many types of buyers setting up home at Aston Park, it’s unsurprising that nearly 50% of the development has sold already.

A selection of three bedroom semi-detached and townhouse homes remain, with prices from £144,995 as well as four bedroom detached and townhouse homes, priced from £179,995.

Aston Park is located close to the M1, M18 and A57, which is handy for commuters.
