Tipsyfeet foldable shoes bring ladies' feet back down to earth

The company that produces the foldable, flat shoes designed to "save the soles" of ladies' feet after a big night out is expanding under its new ownership and management. Tipsy Feet Ltd, the aptly named venture based in Ware, Herts, has taken over the range of Tipsyfeet ladies' footwear that slips neatly in a handbag and relieves tired and aching feet after those stylish yet painful designer heels have been worn for a party or function.

Ideal for achieving comfort on the journey home, or enabling ladies to walk to an after-party without their feet almost literally killing them, the Tipsyfeet product first appeared in 2007. The company came under new ownership and management in December 2010 and has recently launched its new, wholesale-only website.

The Tipsyfeet come in a patented, colour co-ordinated pouch that unfolds to become a shoulder bag in which the owner can carry discarded high heels and other personal belongings. The Tipsyfeet have many uses: not only are they perfect for after-party purposes but they're also ideal for travel, driving and formal business functions where heels may be required for style and presentation - at, say, a meeting - but are impractical for the rest of the day.

Created for ladies who want to look their best, Tipsyfeet come in a selection of striking party colours - including purple, pink, burgundy, bronze, gold, silver, leopard print, nautical blue and white stripe - as well as in more neutral shades such as black, brown, white, grey, dusty yellow and pearl. They are offered in sizes Small (UK 3-4 Eur 36-37), Medium (UK 5-6 Eur 38-39) and Large (UK 7-8 Eur 41-42). Most styles also have XL (UK 9-10 Eur 43-44).

Mike Irving, the new proprietor of Tipsy Feet Ltd, says: "It's a familiar scenario for ladies who wear heels... after a night out drinking and dancing, there's more fun to be had but their blistered and battered feet are screaming to go home. It's not always a case of 'these boots are made for walking' but with Tipsyfeet there's no need for the femme fatales to repose on the nearest wall, stagger about in agony or resort to hailing the first taxi to come along. The compact Tipsyfeet can be carried in a normal handbag and then the patented, fold-out bag solves the problem of stashing the discarded heels. Theo Paphitas thought they were 'a great idea' when the previous company owners appeared on Dragons Den back in 2007."

Mike and his team have stepped in with new financing and ideas on how to improve the product and raise the company profile. The 2011 designs are intended to appeal to a wider audience than ever before. Tipsyfeet products can be bought from a number of retail and online outlets. Stockist details and location maps can be found at tipsyfeet.co.uk/locator.html.

Mike concludes: "Tipsyfeet has great branding and the product has built up a significant following during the past three years. The unique selling point is, without doubt, the patented shoulder bag pouch that's used to carry the ladies' discarded heels. With Tipsyfeet, we're catering for soles that literally need to be brought back down to earth.
