Life-line for first time buyers in Lancashire
Miller Homes is helping Lancashire based first time buyers get onto the property ladder with the Government backed initiative, HomeBuy Direct. This low cost home ownership scheme is now available on ‘Astbury’ apartments at its Millers Green development in Heysham.
HomeBuy Direct is a Government backed equity loan scheme, created to help first time buyers and those in need of a more affordable way to buy their own new build home. Unlike other schemes, with HomeBuy Direct purchasers own 100% of their home from day one. Any household with an annual income of £60,000 or less and unable to afford to buy a suitable property on the open market is eligible for the scheme.
HomeBuy Direct offers eligible buyers an equity loan for up to 30% of the property value. This loan is jointly funded by Miller Homes and the Government and it is interest free for the first five years. This allows people who qualify to own their own home by paying just 70% of the value before they move in. The major benefits of the HomeBuy Direct scheme are that it reduces the amount of deposit required and places the homebuyer in a stronger position when applying for a mortgage.
Miller Homes is offering HomeBuy Direct on its 1-bedroom ‘Astbury’ apartment complete with allocated parking. The ‘Astbury’ is an enormously practical home with attractive room geometry and flexible open plan living space. On the HomeBuy scheme the ‘Astbury’ could be purchased for just £48,965 now inplace of the full market price of £69,950.
