Save money with True Traveller Travel Insurance

Adventure Travel company True Traveller has launched a very competitive stand- alone travel insurance site to offer great value flexible cover for travellers. Single trip cover in Europe just £15.60 for 9 days and a typical 6 month policy for backpackers, covering anybody up to the age of 49, costs just £140.

“Clients were coming to us with very specific travel insurance queries, both for adventure trips and regular holidays,” said True Traveller’s Tim Riley, “but a lot of the standard policies on sale are just not flexible enough for their needs. For example many policies can’t be renewed once you’ve left the country or don’t provide cover for more than 12 months, whereas our backpacker policy can. We also realised that backpacker policies routinely include cancelation insurance, which is no use to somebody who’s not booking hotels in advance. The same goes for baggage cover, which you don’t really need if your backpack is well worn and the contents aren't worth much. On the other hand regular travellers often pay for baggage cover, which is usually covered by their household policies, so we've given them the option to include it or not. It was also quite difficult to find a policy that covered one way insurance for those emigrating and even getting insurance for motorbike touring could be a challenge, but not anymore.”

Many adventurous activities are covered as standard in the True Value backpacker policy, including trekking to 2000m, but a range of others such as black water rafting, hiking above 2000m and bungee jumping can be included with the “Adventure Pack”, as an optional add on for just £24.
