Retired homebuyer Elisabeth Jordan enjoyed a stress-free switch to her brand new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Paddock Fields development of property for sale in Northamptonshire.

Twenty-one years into her retirement, the last thing Northamptonshire property-hunter Elisabeth Jordan wanted when she decided to move home was a drawn out and stressful experience.

So, she was delighted to discover that Taylor Wimpey could shield her from the stresses of selling her home and buying a brand new one just a few streets away at the leading housebuilder’s Paddock Fields development of new homes for sale in Gretton, Northamptonshire.

With a bungalow to sell, and her eye on a three-bedroom property at the development of new houses for sale in Gretton, Elisabeth took advantage of the leading housebuilder’s popular easymover initiative.

As an easymover customer, Elisabeth enjoyed the benefit of having Taylor Wimpey help to find a buyer for her old property in Gretton, while the housebuilder also covered the cost of her estate agency fees and paid for a full removals service.

“Moving house can be a frightening prospect when you’re in your mid-70s,” says Elisabeth, who taught children with learning difficulties in Corby during her working life.

“Fortunately, Taylor Wimpey held my hand throughout the process which took a lot of pressure and worry away. I didn’t have to get involved in negotiating prices for my old home, which is something I wouldn’t have relished.

“Everybody I dealt with a Taylor Wimpey was pleasant, friendly and incredibly helpful – it was quite different to how I imagined the buying and selling process could be.

“My old home was on a steep hill and a large removals van just couldn’t get access to it, so instead, Taylor Wimpey arranged for a smaller van to do the move over three days – nothing was too much trouble.”

The awkward location of her previous home had been one of the main motivating factors in Elisabeth’s decision to move.

“I had a wonderful garden, but it was a third of an acre and hilly, and as much as I love gardening, I found it was becoming unmanageable,” she says.

“So I knew it was time to downsize, although it was the garden, rather than the home which was the priority when it came to scaling things down!

“Since moving to Paddock Fields in June, I’ve been busy in my new garden, and am quite excited to see how the planting will have taken shape by next summer.

“I have French doors in my sitting room leading outside, and it’s been wonderful to be able to have them open in the warm weather and look out. It’s also nice to open my front door and not be confronted with a hill to negotiate, too!”

A Gretton resident for 42 years, Elisabeth believes Paddock Fields is an asset for the village, adding: “It’s a very welcoming and accepting community, and people who have moved to the development from outside of the area have found it very easy to settle here.

“The sense of community is something people in Gretton pride themselves on, and everyone makes sure they support the village shop, use the village hall and so on.”

Paddock Fields residents are also spoilt for choice when it comes to places to visit in the area, according to Elisabeth.

“We’re close to some lovely towns like Market Harborough, Stamford and Uppingham; Rockingham Castle is two-and-a-half miles away and historic Kirby Hall is also nearby.

“If you like sailing and other watersports then Rutland Water is a short drive away, then there’s some lovely places like Fineshade Woods which make a great day out.”

A selection of high-quality homes is currently available to buy at Paddock Fields, including two-bedroom properties from just £132,995, three-bedroom houses from only £179,995 and four-bedroom homes from as little as £219,995.

All new homes at Paddock Fields are finished to a high standard specification including energy-efficient central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

A range of time and money-saving incentives for those with a property to sell is available with selected properties at Paddock Fields, including the easymover scheme and Part Exchange. Incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and are subject to availability, with further information available from the Sales Executive.

Nestled amid picturesque Northamptonshire countryside, the exclusive collection of 59 new homes at Paddock Fields is surrounded by acre upon acre of open fields and woodland.

The carefully planned development will include a selection of rustic stone properties and traditional architecture designed to complement the village’s historic built heritage.

Gretton is a picturesque village which benefits from a host of traditional amenities including a village school, a pre-school group, a post office and general stores as well as three pubs and a coffee shop on the village green.

The village boasts a thriving social scene and benefits from a community hall which hosts music and theatre events plus the village’s many clubs. Sporting facilities are available for cricket, bowls and football, while the recreation ground has play equipment for children of all ages, as well as blading, skateboarding and a BMX track.

For shopping, a wide choice of big-name stores is available in Corby, where the town centre, just five miles to the south of the new homes, has benefited from a major regeneration scheme.

Meanwhile, the historic Rutland town of Uppingham – home of the famous public school – is five miles to the north and offers a weekly market and a charming selection of boutiques and independent shops.

Commuters will appreciate the new homes occupy an excellent location, with the A14 and A1 both within easy reach, while regular services from Corby railway station reach London St Pancras in around 75 minutes.

The Paddock Fields Sales Centre and show home is located off Corby Road, Gretton.
