Prospective buyers have an inspiring new one-bedroom apartment design to view at Waterside Park, Barratt London’s development in the Royal Docks.

Designed by Claude Hooper Interiors, which specialises in creating show homes and marketing suites, the show apartment opened on Saturday 21st January for prospective buyers.

Carrie Goodman of Claude Hooper Interiors, comments: “The scheme is designed on a very contemporary pale ivory base. Having the walls in this pale tone allows light to bounce of the walls. In this lovely park-like setting, this gives the apartment a sparkling, contemporary feel which is very appealing to young professionals.

“The accent colours of watermelon red and mustard yellow bring in a hint of fun, while we’ve added a slight retro twist with the light fittings and furniture. Classic statement pieces of furniture have been used to add substance and a nod to traditional design.”

“The artwork is particularly important in creating impact. The hand painted Beatles Mural in the bathroom and the vintage advertising posters all in the same colour palette help with this element of fun.”

Gary Patrick, regional sales director, Barratt London, comments: “The new show apartment at Waterside Park is a great way for prospective buyers to experience the quality and finish of their new apartment as well as the up and coming area. The design showcases the fun aspect of the area as well.”

He continues: “This year, the Royal Docks area will become even more interesting, as many of the 2012 Olympics will be hosted nearby. The transport links are excellent in this area, which will attract more and more residents.”

Waterside Park is an exceptionally appealing development for first-time buyers or investors looking to buy in the Royal Docks area and this new show home gives potential buyers the chance to talk to the sales team and get a feel for the local area. Comprised of 777 apartments with a mix of one bedroom suites, two and three-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses, properties are available from £217,000 (£482 per square foot).

FirstBuy, a scheme introduced by the Government to help first time buyers with a housing deposit, is available on properties at Waterside Park. For first time buyers, this scheme enables them to purchase a home with as little as a five per cent deposit. Through FirstBuy, qualifying buyers are offered a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of the one bedroom property, jointly funded by Barratt London and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Within Waterside Park there are plans for landscaped courtyards, a 24-hour concierge service, a car club and a residents-only 2,500 square foot gymnasium. As well as the riverside aspect, the contemporary development overlooks the award-winning 22-acre Thames Barrier Park.

The modern interiors of the apartments at Waterside Park include floor-to-ceiling windows and open-plan living areas, which maximise light and space. Most will have a balcony or terrace and allocated parking is available at an additional cost.

Pontoon Dock station, on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), is next to Waterside Park and provides direct services to Canary Wharf in about 10 minutes, the City in 20 minutes and Stratford, the site of the London 2012 Olympics, in 15 minutes. For international travel, City Airport is only one stop on the DLR.

Waterside Park is located 14 minutes away from the Excel Centre, home to exhibitions and sporting events, and just 10 minutes from the O2 Arena, one of Europe's largest indoor arenas and featuring cinemas, bars and restaurants.

This new phase at Waterside Park has one and two bedroom apartments with prices starting from £217,000
