The battle to become 2008 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge Champion has come down to 65 miles within the six special stages of the seventh and final round, the North-Wales based Bulldog Rally, which takes place on Saturday 18th October.

Having led from start to finish and recording the fastest time on all of the event’s ten stages, Guy Wilks and co-driver David Moynihan crossed the line of this weekend’s Rally Yorkshire, round five of the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, to record a resounding victory for the Mitsubishi Motors UK Rally Team by a margin of one-and-a-half minutes.

Mitsubishi Motors total global production came in at 90,987 units, a decline of 17.1 percent over August 2007 and the sixth consecutive monthly decrease since March.

The racing debut for the Works Mitsubishi Motors UK Lancer Evolution X in this weekend’s Britcar 24-hour race at Silverstone was hailed as a great success by the team, the brand new car completing the whole event without missing a beat.

Next weekend will see the Mitsubishi Motors UK Works Rally Team get back to the business of competing for the British team’s and driver’s titles, when Guy Wilks and Gwyndaf Evans contest round five of the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, the Rally Yorkshire on 27th September.

Determined runs on the opening day of the 2008 PAX Rally from all three Team Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart crews have seen Luc Alphand/Gilles Picard (France) emerge as the early leaders. Team-mates Joan 'Nani' Roma/Lucas Cruz (Spain) and Stéphane Peterhansel/Jean-Paul Cottret (France) follow in fifth and sixth places.

Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart team's fourth competitive outing of the 2008 season marks a return to the extreme west of the European continent for the inaugural 'Pax Rally em Portugal'.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and its motor sport unit, the Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart team, in association with its partners Repsol, Valeo and BFGoodrich – will enter the new, turbodiesel 'Racing Lancer' in next year's Dakar Rally which will take competitors through Argentina and Chile from Saturday January 3 until Sunday January 18, 2009.
