Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe A Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé has been bought at a charity auction for £800,000. The successful bid was made at the 9th Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball held to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Overall the event raised in excess of £6 million, with £3.1 million raised at the auction alone.


Rolls-Royce Phantom Silver Rolls-Royce has produced a limited edition, named Phantom Silver, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Silver Ghost. The special model, of which only 25 will be made, pays homage to one of the most famous automotive names of all time.


The largest gathering of Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts ever, took place on Saturday at the Rolls-Royce head office and manufacturing plant at Goodwood, West Sussex. More than 60 of the historic motor cars, built between 1907 and 1926, were displayed before they embarked on a 17-day, 2000-mile tour.


The Rolls-Royce Dick Hern Award has been presented to Saeed bin Suroor of the Godolphin stables, who trained seven winners at Goodwood in 2006. This annual award was introduced in 2002 and given to the racehorse trainer with the most Goodwood winners in the previous season.


Rolls-Royce Motor Cars welcomed TV gardening expert Charlie Dimmock to the company’s manufacturing plant and head office at Goodwood, near Chichester earlier this week. She joined the children from Fishbourne CE Primary School to help create the wildlife garden, which won the ‘Go Wild at Rolls-Royce’ competition.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars hosted the launch of BikeSafe Sussex 2007 at the company’s Goodwood manufacturing plant yesterday. Thirty employee motorcyclists were assessed by specially trained Sussex Police riders and advised on how to make their riding safer and more enjoyable.


Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced details of the winning design for a permanent large-scale artwork to be situated at the Bishop Otter campus, Chichester University. Winning artist Walter van Rijn’s design for a Sound Unit in the shape of an ellipse was the unanimous choice by the panel of judges. The competition for the commission was open to artists worldwide, in partnership with Chichester District Council and the University of Chichester.

Roll-Royce 3000th Phantom Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has produced the 3,000th Phantom since the launch of the company in January 2003. It was commissioned by a UK customer through Rolls-Royce Motor Cars of London and has been delivered today.
