Citroen keeps on winning! The company has now won the prestigious GreenFleet LCV Manufacturer of the Year award – just days after the Citroen Nemo van became International Van of the Year 2009.

Citroen’s compact high cube van, the Nemo, has just been awarded the prestigious title of ‘International Van of the Year 2009’ – with the brand new Berlingo van taking second place. The champion Citroen LCVs received their prestigious accolades at a ceremony during the IAA Truck Show in Hanover.

Leading Citroen Ready to Run converter Somers Refrigeration has just produced its 4,000th temperature controlled van – a new Berlingo.

Nottingham City Homes is now taking delivery of more than 300 Citroen Dispatch and Relay LCVs, replacing its entire existing mixed vehicle fleet. This significant order has been gained by Citroen dealer Springfield Motor Group, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and specialist vehicle finance company Grosvenor Contracts Leasing Ltd.

Trafford Council in Manchester is now taking delivery of 56 new Citroen commercial vehicles, which have been supplied as part of a 10-year contract with local authority fleet management specialist provider, TransLinc.

Integra Utility Services is now putting 11 new Citroen Relay 35 L3H2 160 vans into service. The new Relays are specified with the 3.0HDi 160hp engine to suit them for use with Integra’s external metering teams, an operation which involves towing 2.0 tonne gross plant trailers.

With the launch of the new Citroen Nemo X 1.4i dual fuel van the Citroen Ready to Run range of Nicholson McLaren Engines (NME) converted dual fuel (petrol/LPG) vans has just been expanded.

The 1,000th Citroen Berlingo 600 LX 1.4i van has just been converted for dual fuel (petrol/LPG) operation by Nicholson McLaren Engines (NME). The NME Berlingo dual fuel van is exempt from the London Congestion Charge as it meets Powershift Band 4 emissions standards.

The new Citroen Relay has been adopted as the standard van for ALLTEC Network’s new and most powerful Truck Mount Cleaning systems. The fast-growing, professional carpet cleaning equipment manufacturer has just signed a three year solus agreement with Citroen, during which time the company will purchase some 150 new Relay 35 L3H2 120 vans.

Three new Citroen commercial vehicle ranges make their UK show debuts at the CV Show 2007 (NEC, April 24-26). Citroen’s new Relay panel van range set the pace in the UK van market at its launch late last year when it became the first to be fitted with satellite navigation and stolen vehicle tracking as standard. Now, this Trafficmaster Smartnav system has been upgraded with many new features.

Citroen has announced first details of its new, expanded Dispatch range, which is set to go on sale in the UK in early 2007. The new Dispatch, known as Jumpy in other markets, is designed to appeal to a broader customer base and replaces the current model that was launched in late 1996.

Now on sale is Citroen’s new Euro IV compliant Berlingo range, offered with a choice of even more advanced, fuel efficient engines. Citroen is giving light commercial vehicle operators a new sense of direction during its Citroen National Van Fortnight, 3 – 19 November 2006. This event provides a showcase for the new, premium Relay range introduced last month which, uniquely for a range of panel vans, has Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar – the UK’s leading GPS stolen vehicle tracking service - fitted as standard. Now all C2 Enterprise, Berlingo, Dispatch and previous generation Relays ordered during the Citroen National Van Fortnight and delivered by 31 December 2006 will also come fitted with free Trafficmaster Smartnav and Trackstar.

The new Citroen Relay, which goes on sale in the UK on 19 October, represents a major advance for both the company and its customers. To succeed in one of the most hotly contested sectors of the light commercial vehicle market, new Relay makes full use of the benefits of innovative, premium quality design and engineering.

The new, premium Citroen Relay range has already achieved its first major success in advance of its UK launch, later this month. Based on independent price guide residual value figures, the new Relay range is expected to have residual values over 50 per cent better than those of the model it replaces.

As part of a multi-agency programme, Her Majesty’s Courts Service (HMCS) has just ordered 21 specially modified Citroen Dispatch 2.0HDi Combi 6 vehicles, capable of carrying a number of Court Enforcement Officers, together with up to two offenders in a secure cell unit. Citroen and Kinetic Special Vehicles Ltd have worked closely with HMCS to develop the specification for these vehicles, which are also fitted with air conditioning.

Majestic Wine Warehouses Ltd has just taken delivery of its 500th Citroen light commercial vehicle. The company, the UK’s largest retailer specialising in the sales of wine by the mixed case, is a long-established Citroen commercial vehicle operator, starting some 16 years ago with C15 vans.

Citroen’s innovative Super September offers package is designed to maintain the company’s strong 2006 sales performance in a very competitive UK light commercial vehicle market. Citroen’s first 35 Berlingo 2.0HDi 600 XTR+ enhanced traction vans are now being delivered to the Forestry Commission. The XTR+ vans are being operated by the Forestry Commission’s Mechanical Engineering Services business unit and are part of a major order for some 100 Citroen Berlingos, which also includes 2.0HDi vans in LX and Enterprise trim.

Citroen’s popular Berlingo range has now been further expanded with the launch of the enhanced traction Berlingo 2.0HDi 600 XTR+, making it even easier for customers to choose the optimum vehicle specification for each individual application.

Thanks to strong sales performances in the first four months of 2006 by all models in its four-strong range, Citroen has continued to hold its position as the third largest supplier of vehicles in the up to 3.5 tonne gvw sector, while at the same time increasing its market share. The Company’s policy of supplying well specified, reliable vehicles offering outstanding value has paid off in the face of strong competition from a host of other manufacturers.

Citroen has long been a key player in the commercial vehicle market. By constantly matching its range to market trends, Citroen secured a 10.2% share of the European LCV market (26 countries) in 2005.
