From the rose covered house, with it's superb south facing terrace and heated pool which is surrounded by a tranquil garden, you will be able to stroll to the shops and gourmet restaurants; visit the street markets and food hall, or indulge in cafe society whilst listening to the musicians or watching the talented street performers. There really is something for everyone right here on your door step!!

Sarlat and the Perigord Noir are renowned the world over. An area of exceptional historic value that has been inhabited by man for over 400,000 years. A big draw has always been the diversity of food on offer, such as the magnificent Cepes, Black Truffles and fabulous Foie Gras and Game. This abundance of epicurean food along with the wonderful climate continue to draw people to this region today.
The beautiful Medieval town of Sarlat, with it's 1000 years of art and architecture, receives over 1,500,000 visitors per year. Many come to experience one of the many Gourmet restaurants in Sarlat, or sit at the street Cafes and watch the world go by; whilst others are drawn by the Film Festival or the Summer Street Theatre.
The central Perigord Noir location allows you to visit the nearby attractions very easily, whether it be the world famous prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux, or the World Heritage Classified Vezere Valley with its many Stone Age relics and caves dating from 20,000 years ago. Maybe, you might like to visit the vineyards of Bergerac and St.Emilion. If you wish to go Hot Air Ballooning as the sun rises over the surrounding castles that can be arranged too. It is all here for you to do whether its drifting down the river in a canoe or eating at a Michelin starred restaurant, we will try our best to arrange it for you - even the sunshine.
There are many festivals, fairs and markets throughout the year. From mid July and throughout August there is a Music and Drama Festival in Sarlat with open air concerts and plays, street entertainment and busking musicians who will amuse and delight you. During the busy summer time there are also numerous Night Markets and Gourmet Feast Days where it is possible to try the food from the region, watch it being cooked before you and then sit and enjoy with a glass of local wine in the open air dining areas. During the autumn and winter months you can visit the Truffle markets and search for the famous Cepe mushrooms which grow in abundance in this fertile region. In the village markets, the fruit and vegetables, nuts, and mushrooms of every description bear witness to the region's self-sufficiency in food.
The English owners, Hamish and Xanthe Eadie, have lived in the area for 7 years and are able to help you arrange a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this wonderful place. However long that may be !!!
