Cheshire reacts to Bank of England rate change

Following last week’s Bank of England base rate rise, Cheshire Building Society is passing the full 0.25% point increase on to account holders of its active investment products from the 1st December.

Holders of the Cheshire’s 50 Plus Freedom account, designed for investors aged 50 and over, are already benefiting from the 0.25% increase as this product rate was increased to 5.10% AER (monthly 4.98% gross, annual 5.10% gross) from the 11th November. The Society will also increase rates on its closed investment accounts by 0.10% from the 1st December and encourage Members to move their money to current products that offer better value.

Cheshire mortgage Members will see a 0.25% increase to the Society’s Standard Variable Rate (SVR) to 7.04% from 1st December.
