Transport of delight to chocolate heaven

Transport of delight to chocolate heaven There are some things worth making a journey for and one of them is chocolate. Brussels is the epicentre of chocolate passion and with fares at a bite-sized £35 return Eurolines offers a transport of delight. In a country famed for its chocolate, it is no surprise that at one side of its main Grand Place there is a museum dedicated to cocoa and the magical art of chocolate-making.

Down nearly every street in Brussels medieval centre there are specialist chocolatiers, some with international reputations and mouth-watering displays. For an Easter break, Brussels really does have all the ingredients.

Although it was the British who first brought chocolate from the Amercias to Europe, the real expertise was lost centuries ago to the Belgians. The Chocolate Museum welcomes its visitors with a taster and its displays show every aspect of how the bean is transformed into truffles, swirls and tablets. It tells the story of how it was first harvested by the Aztecs and, when it came over to England, was described as the food of the gods. It is also the place to book into a walking tour of the city centre of Brussels with the intriguing title “Chocolate and Love Legends”.

Eurolines, the international scheduled coach operator and part of National Express has return fares to the Belgian capital for just £35. It has regular daily services direct from central London making it easy to take a short break even if you are watching your budget.

Booking is easy at Eurolines.co.uk where you can also book hotels to suit any budget.
