Singapore hosts non-stop Grand Prix action The Singapore Grand Prix Season kicks off in September when this vibrant city once again hosts the world’s only Formula 1 night race, a dazzling array of musical entertainment, artistic dance shows, premiere exhibitions, intoxicating parties and fabulous retail and dining experiences.

Over 200 artists will perform during the 2009 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix weekend race taking place from 25-27 September at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Top billing performers include rock band Travis, soul Queen Chaka Khan, international sensation Backstreet Boys and world music maestro Youssou N’Dour.

Celebrity deejays, Carl Cox and John Digweed will be live in action at the post-race nightspot Zouk, and a range of international theatre acts, including Melbourne-based Strange Fruit and French artistes Cie des Quidams’ Herbert’s Dream, will provide dramatic visual entertainment at the F1 village.

Multiple events taking place throughout September complement the F1 activities and provide additional reasons to visit.

These include Asia On The Edge (18-27 September) a multi-disciplinary festival featuring the best of Asia’s talent in design, craftsmanship, fashion and gastronomy; an evening with world renowned guartet Il Divo (21 September) who will perform songs from their four studio albums from a hi-tech stage and digital light show, as well as a stunning First Night Race Outdoor Photo Exhibition (15 September – 9 October) featuring pictures from the 2008 race by father and son photographers’ Bernard and Paul-Henri Cahier.

These day and night multi-sensory experiences provide entertainment for all the family and further enhance the city’s growing reputation as Asia’s most vibrant and happening city.

Visitors can enjoy an array of international hotels, hip and trendy bars and restaurants and award winning shopping malls, complementing the non-stop line up of GP Season activities.
