4th July 2007 Print
Accessible Holidays Whether you fancy a cruise into the horizon, to take flight to see flamingos in South Africa or prefer to stay on terra firma in a holiday apartment in Cyprus, if you need a little help to get around, you’ll find an excellent choice at this year’s Mobility Roadshow that takes place on 19, 20 and 21 July at Kemble Airfield near Cirencester.

Over 30 accessible hotel, cruise, travel and holiday operators from around the world are attending the show. Prestigious names include InterContinental Hotels, which is launching a new ceiling track hoist facility, Royal Caribbean Cruises, P&O Cruises and Virgin Holidays join operators from Egypt, Cyprus, Holland, Majorca, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Turkey and of course the United Kingdom.

Accessible Travel & Leisure, a UK market leader in accessible holidays, can take you anywhere in the world, on a holiday tailored to individual special needs. Whether you are a wheelchair user or have difficulty walking distances, or you may be a single parent travelling alone with children, a wealth of travel information will be available from ATL and other travel-related companies and organisations at the show to meet your needs.

If you fancy sunny Spain, talk to Villa Don Pepe about their luxury adapted villas in Lanzarote, or Sol Andalusi in Malaga where you can rent or buy accommodation at its award-winning Healthy Living Resort. Other exhibitors in the Spanish quarter are from Alicante, Benidorm and Tenerife. Or you can fulfil your dream of owning a holiday home abroad with a purpose-built new Adapted Design and Build Villa from Girasol Homes in South Eastern Spain.

Just across the channel is Hotel de Palatijn, a stone’s throw from the historical city centre of Alkmaar in Holland, a brand new elegant 100 percent accessible 4 star hotel. Access Centres Turkey is a new accessible holiday resort centre near Marmaris, with transport to the beach included. All will have representatives at the show. And making a return visit is the Lasko Thermal Spa Resort in Lasko, Slovenia. There are holiday prize draws, one specifically for visitors over 65 years.

The annual Mobility Roadshow is the world’s largest event of its kind. As well as adapted vehicles to test drive, from around 200 exhibitors there will be scooters, trikes and wheelchairs, mobility aids for indoor and outdoor living and recreation, plus a large number of information and charity organisations offering information and impartial advice. This year also sees a new Sports Arena and Flying Zone with opportunities to take part.

With free parking, entry and showguide, crèche facilities for children and dogs, wheelchair and scooter loans, and entertainment for young visitors, this is a great day out for all the family.
