Argentina becomes ranch holiday destination

4th October 2007 Print
Argentina Ranch Connections, the UK’s favourite ranch and activity operator is now offering Argentina as one of its ranch holiday destinations. Argentina is a land of many contrasts with a huge variety of experiences, making holidays to this amazing country an extremely rewarding destination.

From Buenos Aires the chic 'Paris' of the southern hemisphere to the magnificent Iguazu Falls in the sub-tropical Misiones province as well as the Magnificent Andes Mountains bordering Argentina with Chile.

Estanica Los Potreros is an exclusive 6,000-acre working cattle ranch set at an altitude of 3,000 feet, nestled between the pampas and the Andes Mountains. The horseback riding is "Western" and very relaxed and the amount of riding and the terrain is arranged to the guest's wishes. Los Potreros is a place for people who appreciate fine horses and know how to ride horseback. Prices start from approximately £1000.00 for seven nights (twin sharing basis) and include accommodation, all meals and horseback riding.

Located in the Northern Patagonian Lake District and about 1000 miles from Buenos Aires, the Estancia Huechahue is a working cattle ranch with a much deserved reputation as one of the best estancias for horse riding. When working with the cattle it’s an early start - days can be long! Every animal must be accounted for, every canyon and hilltop scouted but its tremendous fun and a great deal of satisfaction when the job is done.

The Estancia Huechahue lies on the Alumine River which is great for fishing, swimming and a barbeque on the banks. Guest accommodation is set in three lodges, all rooms have private facilities. Meals are served in the dining room or sometimes in the function room where an open fire pit is perfect for 'Asados' (a large barbeque) and dancing if the occasion arises!

Prices start from approximately £1050.00 for seven nights (twin sharing basis) and include accommodation, all meals and horseback riding.

Come and join the gauchos in Argentina for a truly South American ranch experience! A long time ago—before the Tango was ever heard of, Argentina was renowned for its estancias—immense cattle and horse ranches of the wealthy European settlers.

From the 17th century onwards, elegant Italianate mansions, French chateaux, Tudor manors and Spanish Haciendas began to appear in the wild pampas and rugged foothills of the Andes as nostalgic tributes to the Old World. The sophistication was not just skin deep—the families maintain a stylish way of life to this day. Many of these beautiful estancias now invite you to experience the aristocratic lifestyle of the famed working ranches of Argentina.

Ranch Connections guests can also choose to add on a city stay in Buenos Aires or anywhere else either at the beginning or end of the ranch stay.
