Use redundancy to go overland, not overboard!

11th November 2008 Print
Use redundancy to go overland, not overboard! Dragoman is offering ‘life changing holidays’ to anyone made redundant as a result of the global financial crisis at a 10% discount – P45 or proof of redundancy (either enforced or voluntary) required!

Dragoman has already seen enquiries and brochure requests for its 4 to 27 week overland adventures increase by 20% since the global financial crisis took hold. The company believes this is because potential travellers are increasingly looking at redundancy as an opportunity, and not a threat, to their future careers.

Dragoman estimates that before the global financial crisis hit a quarter of its clients were in the process of re-assessing their careers – either by using redundancy packages, taking a sabbatical or simply taking their lives in a new direction. Dragoman is actively talking to HR departments in the City of London with a view to striking deals for those employees facing the ‘dreaded chop’.

Adam Dixon-Smith, Dragoman MD, says “In the past, it’s been hard for people to believe that it’s their job that’s redundant and not them, so many people have missed out on the opportunities that redundancy can open up. That viewpoint now seems to be changing, so through this offer, we want to help people make the most of their newfound freedom. Redundancy, if viewed and used properly, can completely rejuvenate someone’s career or entire life – and that’s what our holidays have always been about.”
