Follow the stars to Pembrokeshire

10th June 2009 Print
There’s never been a better time to visit the beautiful Welsh county of Pembrokeshire as this year it plays host to not one, but two Hollywood blockbusters.

Following hot on the heels of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Russell Crowe’s new Robin Hood epic Nottingham starts filming at Freshwater West in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on 15 June, and fans have until the end of the month to catch a glimpse of the Oscar-winning actor.

If that’s not enough to tempt you, the filming will be part of the finale and will include a spectacular battle scene with boats and horses, offering a truly unforgettable experience.

Holiday-Rentals, the UK’s largest holiday home rentals website currently lists 41 properties in Pembrokeshire, including picture-perfect cottages and unique conversions worthy of a star role in either of the movies. Below are some of the great value homes still available this summer.

Pembrokeshire is renowned for its spectacular cliffs, gorgeous sand dunes, clear streams and rivers, and having more blue flag and Seaside Award beaches than any other county in Britain, making it a fantastic choice for a ‘staycation’ this year. As well as star-spotting, other activities on offer include exploring medieval walled towns, fortresses and castles, plus surfing, whale- and dolphin-watching boat trips.
