A man on a Canadian train – with skis
7 February 2008

Intrepid UK traveller Colin Nicholson is exploring Canada from coast to coast in search of the ultimate winter fun! Riding the Canadian rails with Via Rail, Colin will be making stops at major Canadian winter festivals and experiencing some serious powder on Canadian ski hills.

His stories about Carnaval in Quebec City are already on line and he's about to get ready to participate in the Canadian Ski Marathon, just outside the capital city, Ottawa, before participating in their Winterlude activities. He'll then be setting off for Toronto before sitting back in his train seat for a few days heading out across the Canadian Prairies to the magnificent Canadian Rockies.

Colin will be staying at some of Canada’s grandest hotels which were originally built with the expansion of the railroad out west. Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Canadian properties are the stuff of legend and a proud part of Canada’s history and its railroad history.

Its the journey that dreams are made of. Readers can follow Colins route on line or why not sign up to write your own Canadian blog, skis or not, at Realtravel.com.
