Liverpool FC legends to visit Grenada

The Liverpool Football Club Legends team will be in Grenada for a 7-day football extravaganza from June 10, 2009 to help raise funds for The Jason Roberts Foundation, which helps children and young people participate in sports and cultural activities in Grenada and the UK.

Football fans on holiday in Grenada will be able to see the 12-man Liverpool squad, which will include Bruce Grobbelaar, John Barnes, Michael Thomas, Gary Gillespie, Paul Walsh, Phil Babb, Mark Walters, Mark Wright and former player, now Sky Sports pundit, Phil Thompson in action at the showpiece event in the National Football Stadium for a football match against a Grenada Invitational XI on Saturday 13 June 2009, which is expected to fill the stadium to capacity.

The weeklong series of events will also include players attending a series of coaching sessions and a fund-raising cocktail party at the Calabash Hotel & Villas.

Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts who has represented Grenada in two World Cup qualifying games, set up his foundation in 2007 in order to raise money to develop football and sporting initiatives in Grenada and the UK.
