Lonestar Brasserie, from Barbados to Banus

16th January 2007 Print
Lonestar Brasserie, Puerto Banus Coveted celebrity haunt, the Lonestar Hotel & Restaurant on the pristine shores of Barbados now has an elegant sister establishment in the equally sought-after location of Puerto Banús, Marbella, Spain.

While customers of the recently inaugurated Lonestar Brasserie, Puerto Banús may not be able to dip their toes in the Caribbean blue, they can enjoy one of the most privileged locations in the jet-set leisure port, including a bird’s eye view over a mouthwatering selection of super yachts and a legion of passing Ferraris, Aston Martins and Porsches.

The chic interior has been styled by one of the area’s leading architects, Graciela Leanza. Setting new standards of urban sophistication in the legendary port, the restaurant is elegant, comfortable and inviting. The glass doors sweep aside in daytime to allow uninterrupted portside views and irresistible people watching.
At night, subtle lighting and shimmering reflections on the water create a mesmerizing setting for a relaxed dinner.

Modern British Taste
At the helm in the kitchen is Richard Jones, a young executive chef who has gleaned experience in some of the UK’s finest kitchens including London’s Oxo Tower, Coq D’Argent, Royal Garden Hotel, and the Rossetti Hotel and Harvey Nichols, Manchester.

With a solid team behind him in the kitchen, Richard has created a flexible menu of innovative dishes to satisfy a wide variety of tastes through from brunch to late dinner. Classic brasserie fare such as Club Sandwiches, Burgers and Eggs Benedict are outshone by stellar dishes such as the Risotto of Slow Roast Butternut Squash,

Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Rib-eye Steak and Chips with Slow Roast Tomato and Water Cress Butter. The Barbados Blackened Fish with Sweet Potato and Steamed Rice, a signature dish at the original Lonestar, is proving to be a Puerto Banús favourite too. Add to this a succulent selection of salads, appetizers, wraps and side dishes; the menu is simply bursting with choice. Chef Jones is particularly proud of the desserts, such as the stunning Dark Chocolate Brulee & Mandarin Sorbet and einvented retro dishes such as Coconut Arctic Roll with Passion Fruit Sauce and Warm Pineapple.

Flowing seamlessly from brunch through lunch to dinner, the Lonestar Brasserie can also offer a superb private dining room seating up to 32 people. With an open balcony overlooking the Mediterranean playground that is Puerto Banús, the venue is unrivalled as the new place to dine and celebrate in style.

Add to this a long, cool list of cocktails, chilled champagne by the glass, and a serious wine list, and it won’t be long before the Lonestar Brasserie, Puerto Banús starts to court the celebrity company of the Barbados original.
