Former pupil gets school demolition underway

Former Downend pupil Karen Phelps had a special reason to enjoy returning to her old school as she was allowed to begin demolition to make way for new homes. Karen is now a sales negotiator with Barratt Homes and was first on site to get work underway at Page Court in Downend, Bristol, where Barratt Homes is set to build 51 new properties, subject to planning confirmation.

“I enjoyed my time at the school but it was great to be able to start the demolition project,” said Karen. “There are not many people who are able to knock down their old school.”

As demolition gets underway Barratt Homes will begin work on the new homes which will include a mix of apartments and houses.
