£30,000 makeover reaps rewards for Parkmore hotel
3 October 2007
Experienced hoteliers, Jeremy and Louise Leeds, are reaping the rewards of their investment in Parkmore Hotel in Yarm, following their management buy in earlier this year.
In the four months since they took over the running of the business, the husband and wife team have refurbished the hotel creating a modern, boutique style in the main reception area, renovated the Leisure Club and introduced a range of new facilities under the new name of ‘My Time Leisure, Fitness and Beauty’.
In addition, the restaurant J’s @ 636 has also been refurbished, with a contemporary new look and brassiere style menu. Nick Robinson has been appointed to the role of Executive Chef, having previously run two rosette restaurants in Yorkshire during his career.
Jeremy Leeds, Managing Director of Parkmore Hotel said: “We have big plans for the development of the hotel. Parkmore already had a great reputation and facilities and we wanted to build on that success. Since we took over the management of the hotel four months ago we have modernised the health club, restaurant and interior to breathe new life into the hotel and attract new and existing customers to Parkmore.”
Jeremy and Louise have already increased room revenue by five per cent year on year and the number of guests now dining in house has increased by almost 20 per cent since J’s @ 636 reopened in June.
Jeremy Leeds continues: “J’s @ 636 is proving to be a great success and with Executive Chef, Nick Robinson at the helm we are building our regular customer base and attracting new customers all the time, as people recognise us as a real alternative to restaurants in Yarm.”
This is only the start of Jeremy and Louise’s plans for Parkmore, as they intend to completely transform the hotel over the next three years into a sumptuous, boutique hotel.
Craig Iley, Senior Relationship Manager at Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank said: “Jeremy and Lousie’s experience and enthusiasm is really paying off. Parkmore Hotel holds a wealth of opportunity for development, with room revenue and restaurant bookings already on the increase and further refurbishment planned, the future is looking very bright for Parkmore.”
