Celebrity builder Tommy Walsh visits London development On Wednesday 11th June, celebrity builder Tommy Walsh shared the limelight with Crown Green Mews, a development by Barratt West London of just 13 four-bedroom townhouses in Pellatt Road, North Wembley.

Tommy was filming Tommy Walsh's Green Homes, a new programme for Discovery Real Time featuring environmentally - friendly innovations in house building, when he dropped by to see the solar panels that will provide heating and hot water to the future residents of Crown Green Mews.

Lyn Asquith, key accounts director of Gledhill Water Storage who manufacture the solar panels, commented, "Believe it or not, the UK receives 65% of the sunlight of Spain, so solar panels are an excellent means of generating energy and reducing your gas and electricity bills.

"The solar panels used at Crown Green Mews are particularly efficient as all thermal gain is stored in the Boiler Mate, a device which minimises wastage. 50 to 60% of the energy the solar panels produce is used for hot water and approximately 15% is used for heating. This is an unusual feature, as most solar energy is employed only for hot water. Not only do the solar panels provide an excellent source of renewable energy, but they are also fully recyclable, including the glass outer cover."

Crown Green Mews will provide a premier lifestyle where families can live in stylish and exclusive surroundings. Each beautifully designed house boasts a generous living space with garden and garage. Contemporary materials and finishes have been used throughout, giving living areas a touch of tasteful elegance. The bathrooms and kitchens have been designed with a modern sophistication. Launched at the beginning of the year, Crown Green Mews has proved extremely popular and, although there is no showhome to view, only three of the homes are still available.

World-class music and sporting performances are held in Wembley Stadium; however, for a more sedate diversion, those living in Crown Green Mews can always try a spot of bowling, as the development will be built in the grounds of a bowling club. Although the existing clubhouse of the Century Bowling Club was partially demolished, a new bowling green and extension to the clubhouse have been constructed in its place.

The recent redevelopment of Wembley Stadium has been a catalyst for the regeneration of the region, with significant investment being made in new housing, retail, leisure and community amenities. Improvements are also being made to both the road and rail networks.

Bakerloo, Jubilee and Metropolitan line underground stations are all within walking distance, while nearby mainline stations provide a 30 minute service into London Euston. The M1, M4 and M25 are also easily accessible. The M1 is a mere four miles from Wembley.

The new homes at Crown Green Mews are priced from £449,995. For further information, visit Barratthomes.co.uk.

Tommy's new series ‘Tommy Walsh's Green Homes' premieres on Discovery Real Time on Thursday July 3rd at 9pm.
