Derbyshire Building Society launch online mortgage service

Borrowers will be able to arrange their next mortgage from the comfort of their own home following the launch of online mortgages at Derbyshire Building Society.

From February 28 2005, The Derbyshire's entire range of fixed rate, discount, capped rate, tracker and buy to let mortgages will be available online.

The service will be available daily from 6am to midnight for all house and buy to let purchases and remortgages.

All users need to do is fill out a simple, straightforward and user-friendly form, which takes an average of 20 minutes to complete. The service is fully supported by online help, with additional assistance from staff at Derbyshire Direct.

Once an online application has been completed and submitted, the borrower will receive e-mail updates at key stages during the completion process.

Rob Hill, The Derbyshire's Corporate Communications Manager, said: "The launch of this new online service at The Derbyshire makes it even easier for borrowers to access our extensive range of mortgages.

"It means homeowners can now apply for a mortgage online between 6am and midnight and also talk to a member of staff at our call centre or any branch. It gives them the best of both worlds - a really simple and efficient service plus the expertise and friendly help and support of our staff should they need it."
