Barclays Stockbrokers reveals top 20 fund purchases for July 2012

20th August 2012 Print

Barclays Stockbrokers, execution-only retail broker, reveals the top 20 funds purchased by clients through its revamped Funds Market during July 2012 - a busy month for its funds investors which saw a 110% increase in fund investments compared to the previous month and a 51% increase in investments versus July 2011.

The Aberdeen Emerging Markets fund remained the most commonly purchased fund for the month of July, as was the case in all previous months of this year.  Within the top ten funds purchased, the sector focus remained largely similar to previous months, although taking into account the other funds comprising the  top 20,  there was increased interest in Asia (ex Japan), while interest in UK-focussed funds waned.

Alastair Thaw, Head of Investor Product at Barclays Stockbrokers, said: "In July we saw clients capitalise on opportunities to invest in funds, as inflows more than doubled month on month.  Fund investments year on year also increased, with clients benefitting from our enhanced Funds Market offering."
