Metro Bank moves into Berkshire with reading store opening

14th November 2012 Print

The banking revolution continues this week as Metro Bank continues with its 2012 expansion plans. The 23rd and 24th of November sees Metro Bank's 13th store open outside of London in Reading. This new and exciting edition to Reading's Ethel Austin unit will mean two days of entertainment including stilt walkers, popcorn, balloons and music as well as a new, convenient customer focused bank.

Metro Bank is fulfilling its promise to become the new local bank on every high street. In store, customers can use the free coin counting Magic Money Machines, enjoy instant issue debit cards and cheque books as well as safe deposit boxes. New account holders will be delighted that they can use their debit and credit cards overseas without any charge from Metro Bank, whether they are withdrawing cash from an ATM or at point of sale.

All of these benefits can be enjoyed at a time that is convenient to local residents and businesses as Metro Bank is open 8am - 8pm Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm Saturday and 11am - 5pm Sunday and bank holidays, 361 days a year.

Further stores in Watford, Ealing, Staines, Epsom and Hemel Hempstead are set to open soon.

Craig Donaldson, Chief Executive Officer at Metro Bank, said: ‘The Metro Bank revolution is still storming ahead and we are excited about opening yet another store out of London.  We've had huge support from local businesses already and are recruiting for around 25 exceptional employees to help us bring Metro Bank's revolutionary style of banking to Reading. We can't wait to welcome local customers and businesses to our brand new store in the Broad Street Mall."

"We'd like to welcome all local individuals and businesses to come and help us celebrate. Metro Bank has and continues to bring a completely new, convenient and customer focused way of banking and we look forward to our Reading store becoming a centre point of the community and making a difference to the way that the town banks."

The new Reading Metro Bank store can be found at 5 Broad Street Mall, Reading, Berks, RG1 7QH. Metro Bank is planning to open a further eight stores across London and the Home Counties soon and is still the only high street bank to be granted a full service banking licence by the FSA in the last 2 years.
