Metro Bank comes to the City

25th July 2013 Print

Metro Bank, the revolution in British retail and business banking, is beginning construction on its newest store at One Wood Street, Cheapside, City of London.

The store is set to open in late 2013.

The UK's newest High Street Bank launched in July 2010 with a focus on providing amazing service and convenience to its retail, business and private banking customers. It has now grown to over 200,000 customer accounts across London and the South East, and the City of London opening will be the latest step in Metro Bank's expansion plan to open 200 stores by 2020. The bank currently has 19 stores across London and the South East.

The new store on Cheapside, along with every other Metro Bank store, will offer a full range of banking services for both consumers and businesses.

Unlike any other bank in the UK, every Metro Bank store is open 8am - 8pm Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm Saturday and 11am - 5pm Sunday and bank holidays, 362 days a year. Each store provides free coin counting with Metro Bank Magic Money Machines, replacement lost or stolen debit cards on the spot, as well as safe deposit boxes.

At Metro Bank, local bankers serve local customers. The bank offers bespoke business banking services, including a full range of lending and cash management solutions for businesses of all sizes.

Craig Donaldson, Chief Executive of Metro Bank said: "City workers often start work early and finish late, and need a bank that fits around them. Our job is to make banking easy for our customers and we want to have stores wherever our customers live and work. We look forward to opening in Cheapside and bringing convenient and customer focused banking to the City of London community."
