Tell Leeds Building Society your savings story for a chance to win £2000
Leeds Building Society has launched its ‘Save Interesting’ campaign, which asks people around the UK to submit their "saving stories".
The Society wants to step in to help dedicated savers achieve their goals more quickly! Leeds has launched a new site saveinteresting.co.uk, where people can share their experiences of saving up for something - whether it's a wedding, a break in the sun, a new car or a degree. Whatever you're saving for, Leeds Building Society wants to hear about it as part of the ‘Save Interesting’ campaign - and you might just get a leg up on your plans into the bargain.
Leeds Building Society will be choosing a selection of the most interesting stories submitted and will help raise a contribution.
Kim Rebecchi, Sales & Marketing Director at Leeds Building Society said, “People save in all sorts of ways and for all sorts of reasons, and we want people with great savings stories to tell. You might be saving for something that's very close to your heart, or perhaps you've found a way to cut down the cost of what you're saving for so you can make it happen sooner.”
Leeds Building Society has a couple of examples of people who've already joined the Save Interesting campaign.
Matt and Polly, both 25 and living in Manchester, are planning to get married on New Year’s Eve. They want a low-key wedding, as they can't afford anything big and fancy. They just want to get married really, and as soon as possible. They have been saving for a while and are trying to save money where they can - they have a date booked at Manchester Town Hall on New Year's Eve. Polly is wearing her mum’s wedding ring and a second hand dress (it was her aunties that she wore in the 70’s). They are also asking all their guests to bring food so they can all share a 'picnic' style meal.
David and Lynn live in Hull, but their son Jez lives in New Zealand with his wife Chloe and two children Lola (3) and Sadie (18 months).The family Skype every week but it’s not the same as being able to cuddle their little girls for real. Lola and Sadie are growing up and David and Lynn hate missing out on these precious years.
For every retweet on Twitter and/or share on Facebook Matt and Polly get for their story by 9am on 27th December 2013, Leeds Building Society will contribute £2 towards their wedding (up to max of £1000). For every retweet on Twitter and/or share on Facebook David & Lynn get for their story by 9am on 31st March 2014, Leeds Building Society will contribute £1 to help send David & Lynn to New Zealand to see their grandkids (up to max of £2000). As more stories get added to the site, Leeds Building Society will try to help people achieve their dreams in more ways!
Kim Rebecchi added, "Everyone has something they really want to save up for, and the dedication of some people to achieving their goals is really humbling. By sharing the stories of these savers, we hope we inspire more people to start putting money aside for the things they really want in life - and maybe give them a bit of help along the way, too!"
