How to enjoy the indoors

Working outdoors

People talk of the 'great outdoors' with such rightful conviction. We have a wonderful and captivating world that is more accessible to us than ever due to current technology. However, that technology has also brought us the flip side of the coin. Whilst it makes both local, national and international places of interest much easier for us to visit, it always gives us a plethora of reasons to not bother stepping out of the door.

Today we're going to look at reasons to stay in instead of trying to convince you that the real world is where it's at. The online world has never been able to give us more than it can right now and it's still expanding at a furious pace. We don't need to get dressed and make the treacherous journey outside when we can stay in our PJs and do it even more efficiently from the comfort of our own home!

Shop

Finding a space in the busy car park, spending hours wandering around and searching for that elusive bottle of ketchup, trying to find the smallest queue at the checkout and then waiting for ten minutes anyway....these are all things we can do without, and things we can easily sidestep by doing our shopping online. Every major retailer now offers online shopping with delivery. Everything is brought to your door, meaning that your Sunday morning can be spent in your dressing gown and not at Asda!

Play!

As an adult, nobody plays outside anymore anyway unless it involves a hot day and a beer garden. It's not like when we were kids and we lost hours climbing trees and playing football. You can find whatever type of activity you want online and it's generally much more efficient. There are free games, movies and music. You can conquer a new civilisation or just play chess. You can be a recluse or use the internet to socialise with your friends.

Gamble

Gone are the days of walking into rancid smelling bookies and scrawling on a piece of paper, only to be met with a sour face at the counter. Gone are the days of awkward conversations about how to exchange your cash for chips or where the toilets are in the casino. You can do all of this from your computer or mobile, in bed, on the toilet, in the garden. Use your imagination, or at least the extent of your WiFi. Place your bets on the football or have a spin on live roulette to get all the real feel (and winnings) but with none of the hassle. It's a wonder bricks and mortar casinos still exist when the alternative is so much easier!

Work

You spend half of your day messing around with chain e-mails and bad jokes anyway. You can access all these things at home so why not try and sway the boss into some home working so you can make the most of your time. No need to travel, suit up or even wash if you don't want, but you can access your e-mails, phone and files remotely, and drink all the tea you want. Put it to your boss as record numbers of people are doing it, or become your own boss. Either way is good!

Not everything behind closed doors is better but above are a few reasons why staying in isn't so bad!
