New homes offer rare opportunity in Dorset

21st May 2009 Print
New homes offer rare opportunity in Dorset New build homes within half a mile of Lulworth Cove, one of the most admired and beautiful places on the Jurassic coast in Dorset, are a rare as hens’ teeth – or even full dinosaur skeletons.

It therefore comes as no surprise that just a couple of weeks after the official launch eight of the properties at Shirley Close in West Lulworth have already been sold, leaving just four still available on the first phase.

“Shirley Close is the first sizable development of new homes in the area for many, many years,” says Tammy Bishop of selling agents Connells. “As befitting such a fabulous location, Cawdor Construction has been meticulous in making sure the sixteen properties sit perfectly in harmony with the village, the surrounding countryside and the many historic and beautiful buildings that make West Lulworth such a sought after and picturesque place.”

The development is built predominantly of locally sourced stone and many of the houses have water reed thatched roofs. Internally, attention to detail is just as impressive. Working fireplaces and exposed timber beams are combined with the highest quality, contemporary kitchens and bathrooms to provide modern energy efficient homes full of charm and character.

West Lulworth lies just half a mile inland from Lulworth Cove. Both have a selection of pubs and restaurants serving local sea food, real ales and cider. There’s also a newsagents, as well as a village shop and post office just 200 yards from Shirley Close.

Dorset’s stunning coast, beaches and countryside are literally on the doorstep. And. if you can tear yourself away, a bus service runs to Wool, four miles away, from where there are frequent trains to Weymouth, London Waterloo, Poole, Southampton and Bournemouth. Wareham, Dorchester and Weymouth are all within easy access by road.

“This summer’s trend for “staycations” is likely to bring even more visitors to this delightful corner of England,” says Tammy Bishop. “Once they have seen the homes on offer at Shirley Close, we fully expect that some will decide to stay permanently.”

There are currently four individually designed properties available for sale at Shirley Close; two 3 bedroom thatched cottages, a large 3 bedroom barn style home and a spacious 4 bedroom house. Prices start at £435,000.

A sales office is open at the development between 10 am and 4 pm from Friday to Sunday. At other time further details can be obtained from Connells Wareham office – see connells.co.uk for more information.
