the views from Barratt Homes’ Nautiqua development in Cowes Location is high up on every homebuyers list and sailors, seaside lovers and those wanting to live by the water are simply spoilt for choice with the range of Barratt Homes developments in key south coast positions.

If topping the wish list is a home in one of the top three regatta venues in the world, then Nautiqua, the award-winning housebuilder’s Isle of Wight development in Cowes, fits the bill. The prestigious development of 15 high specification waterfront homes includes spacious two bedroom apartments from £420,000 and luxury four bedroom houses from £695,995 to £1.3 million.

Nautiqua has attracted substantial interest because the majority of properties boast outstanding coastal vistas from fantastic terraces or balconies - offering some of the best views of yachting on the island and in a perfect position to watch the renowned Cowes Week races.

Barratt Homes also accommodates those hunting for a property on the mainland coastline, with Oceana Boulevard, a short walk from Southampton’s bustling Ocean Village marina. One of the most fashionable addresses in town, Oceana Boulevard dominates the skyline, designed to resemble the majestic bow of a cruise ship – reflecting the city’s rich maritime heritage.

The development comprises 283 apartments, many with spectacular southern views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and Southampton waterfront. A wide range of properties, from £135,250 to £780,000, are for sale including Citipads, one and two bedroom apartments, as well as luxurious penthouse suites. Oceana Boulevard is minutes from Southampton city centre and excellent transport links - yet is in close proximity to fine sailing.

Located in a prime beach location further west is the 169 home Dorset seafront development in Boscombe, next to Bournemouth. Barratt’s Honeycombe Beach offers amazing seaside homes, from £397,995, a stone’s throw away from the sandy beach, with fresh sea air and the most incredible views across the English Channel towards Hengistbury Head and Poole bay.

The development, with over 40% of properties now sold, is next to Boscombe Pier with its Grade II Listed buildings and will overlook Europe’s first ever artificial surf reef. With watersport activities on the doorstep, Honeycombe Beach is nestled between Southampton and Poole Harbour – both providing opportunities for excellent sailing.

Or Barratt’s new Hawthorn Meadows will impress those looking for an Isle of Wight retreat close to the water yet in a more rural location. On the outskirts of the village of Whippingham it is just two kilometres from Cowes. The development features 550 homes, from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom houses, and will attract a wide range of buyers searching for a modern home in a fabulous setting. Nearby Cowes is a gateway to the island with regular ferry services, taking less than half an hour to get to the mainland. Prices at Hawthorn Meadows start from £134,995.

“Barratt Homes ensures that its developments are in very desirable locations on the south coast,” said Catherine Ferguson, sales director at Barratt Homes, whose regional head office is in Southampton.

“By moving into a new build property, people can focus on their lifestyle – there’s no need to do any DIY or maintenance, buyers can spend the weekend exactly as they please, sailing and pursuing other leisure interests. From surfing in Boscombe, horseriding in the nearby New Forest, to shopping, eating out or visiting art galleries, there is plenty to keep you occupied on the south coast.”
