New-look Options Centre in Fife

28th September 2007 Print
Options Centre George Wimpey East Scotland Ltd has re-launched its innovative Options Centre at Halbeath near Dunfermline boasting the latest home interiors trends for customers to choose from. The world of home interiors is evolving almost as quickly as our high-street fashion, so it’s vital that George Wimpey can interpret the latest trends for its homes and present them in a comprehensive way, ensuring that our customers have access to the latest looks for their homes.

There are five key trends coming through a whole host of areas for the home as Suzanne Granger, options centre manager explains: “Within our kitchen and flooring ranges we’re seeing the death of beech colour veneers and woods, whilst strong dark woods with a rich oriental feel and the character woods of oak and walnut are making their mark. Bold, glossy colour veneers in Cool Black and Striking Red are taking the home kitchen by storm. And horizontal lines are big news in both kitchens and tiling – creating an exciting visual feature in both of these key rooms in the home. Deep grains in real woods and veneers are also big news this year – creating a sophisticated impact in both flooring and kitchens.

“Plus the coffee revolution seems to have taken hold in the world of home interiors with a plethora of neutral latté, caramel and coffee colours creating a chic and contemporary statement right across the board, whilst the palettes of buttermilk, beech and pear are currently on the way out.

“In terms of product choice and range, we’re also keen to give our customers access to the latest products. Our appliances are now all from the new Electrolux Group with more styles to choose from, and they’re all ‘A’ rated from an energy efficiency perspective.

“New steam ovens combined with conventional ovens is the healthy step forward in the kitchen, whilst the introduction of our ‘range’ cookers for selected house styles will appeal to the aspiring chefs. Integral coffee machines and 10” flip-down TVs with DVD add to the features in our ever-changing kitchens – one of the hardest working rooms in the home.

“We’re also seeing new ways of achieving classic looks with a Parador laminate which is designed to be laid in a herringbone format– adding a sense of timeless chic to any room. And our exclusive tiling range from Porcelanosa boasts plenty of new styles and colours to allow customers to achieve that all-important individual look. Even taps have had a makeover in this new centre. New square cube and prism shapes ensure they’re looking fresh for the future.”

The new 5,887 sq ft George Wimpey Options Centre at Halbeath, Dunfermline is set over two floors, and offers George Wimpey customers an unrivalled range of choices for their new home. Customers can choose from an extensive range of kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, tiles, fire-places and surrounds which includes the very latest ‘Living Art’ fire from Dimplex. This feature product will create a real focal point in any living room.
