Okura takes Japanese cuisine to Shanghai Expo

From 1 May - 31 October 2010, Shanghai will be on the world stage as it hosts Expo 2010, themed 'Better City, Better Life' encapsulating the global desire for better urban living worldwide.

Okura Hotels & Resorts, the Japanese hotel company is taking part in this year's Expo by running its signature Japanese restaurant, Yamazato, in the Japanese pavilion. Okura Hotels & Resorts have a total of seven Yamazato restaurants worldwide, all serving authentic Japanese cuisine, with its Hotel Okura Amsterdam restaurant being awarded a Michelin star in 2002.

Yamazato at Expo 2010 will be supported by Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai, which has its own Yamazato restaurant. The theme of the Japanese pavilion is, 'Harmony of the Hearts, Harmony of the Skills' and its message, 'Connect for a harmonious future'. With Yamazato, guests will be able to experience a range of traditional Japanese dishes, as well as enjoy food from the Teppanyaki open kitchen counter, learning about and connecting to Japan's culture and charm through the sophistication of its food.
