Isuzu supports ‘Help for Heroes’

27th August 2009 Print
Isuzu Isuzu (UK) Limited was only too happy to support the family of Coleshill-based James Munday, a trooper with the Household Cavalry, killed in action in the Afghanistan conflict in October 2008.

James’ cousin Jenice Forde wanted to highlight the soldiers’ plight by organising a fund raising event in James’ honour and joined the growing army of volunteers who help raise funds for ‘Help the Heroes’.

Set up in 2007, the charity supports wounded soldiers with financial needs as well as families of those killed in action. Jenice organised a ‘Ride for Heroes’ event during the summer that incorporated a sponsored ride out as well as a barn dance. More than £6,000 was raised which will now be split equally between ‘Help for Heroes’ and the Household Cavalry’s own charity.

Jenice said: “We were devastated when James died and I wanted to do something that would keep his name alive. Without the support of Isuzu (UK) Ltd, Clifton Lampard, Asda and Countrywide stores, this dream would never have been realised.”
