For many of Dorset’s residents getting a foot on the property ladder may seem a distant dream, but Barratt has launched its popular Head Start scheme at Purbeck Gate in Wool, where you can secure a brand new home for just 85 per cent of the asking price.

“There are times when the thought of buying your own home for the first time seems almost impossible,” said Mark Docherty, Barratt sales director.

“Securing that home is one of the most difficult challenges facing buyers today. We understand that – and we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to live in a place of their own. It is our aim to make sure the process is as straightforward as possible. That’s why we offer Head Start at Purbeck Gate.”

Head Start is a shared equity scheme designed to help buyers take their first step in to the property market. Buyers can buy a home at the exciting new development for just 85 per cent of the asking price. The remaining 15 per cent is funded through a deferred Barratt loan. And buyers don’t have to pay this until the home is sold again or in ten years, whichever is sooner.

Purbeck Gate is currently offering the three bedroom Maidstone design which has an asking price of £232,000 for just £197,200.

“Now is a fantastic time to for people to buy if they can because there is a very good chance of properties increasing in value later on,” explained Mark.

“So, if it is just the financial side causing a problem, it is definitely worth paying us a visit at Purbeck Gate. We have helped so many buyers in to their dream homes over recent years – and we hope to help many more in the future.”

Purbeck Gate is located in the tranquil village of Wool on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The village lies approximately six miles from the Saxon town of Wareham and 12 miles from the town of Dorchester. The seaside town of Weymouth, 14 miles away, will host sailing events for the 2012 Olympics.

For further information visit Purbeck Gate, open from 11am to 6pm daily.
