Clear vision for Volkswagen Van Centre in Cobridge

Pupils from Forest Park Primary School in Stoke have created history of the future in a time capsule at the entrance of a new half a million pound van centre.

The youngsters were given the challenge of designing a ‘campervan of the future’ to mark the opening of Imperial Commercials’ new Volkswagen Van Centre in Cobridge.

86 children from year three and four had to create an innovative design featuring ideas for gadgets, beating congestion, benefiting the environment and making a stay in a campervan even more fun.

Two designs were selected and the winners and entrants joined the Imperial Commercials team on Tuesday 28th September at the Leek New Road site, when the designs were sealed in the time capsule and buried in the ground at the front entrance.

The winning designs were by Rayhan Ahmed and Ayesha Uddin.

Imperial Commercials’ Executive Director, Geoff Haspell said: “The children have really entered into the spirit of the competition and have shown great insight and knowledge of the iconic Volkswagen brand in their designs. They have displayed a great awareness of environmental issues, which are so important to our society today, and in the future.

“Maybe one day these designs will become reality and be sold from our van centre.”

Imperial Commercials has invested over half a million pounds in transforming its site to feature the Volkswagen brand alongside its existing DAF trucks business.
