Imperial Commercials Volkswagen Van Centre Stoke handed over the keys of the new Staffordshire St John’s Ambulance minibus this week. Amanda Danells-Smith, County Fundraiser and PR Officer for St John’s Ambulace said “It was a great day for us – lots of hard work from lots of different people to get the bus on the road has come to fruition!”

St John’s ambulance provides a range of patient transport services, transferring patients to a wide range of non-emergency medical appointments such as admissions and discharge from hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other medical facilities, so transport is very important. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid - about 800,000 last year alone – so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. They teach young people in colleges and schools and through working with young people. They also teach people in the workplace and provide first aid products, also teaching people to become volunteers, who offer their skills right back to the heart of the community.

Ben Redding, Imperial Commercials Volkswagen Van Centre Stoke Sales Executive who supplied the converted 16ft minibus vehicle said; “St John’s Ambulance were looking for a minibus that would improve their reach into the local community. They needed increased accessibility for wheelchair users with space for 10 people seated and an additional 3 people seated in wheelchairs and a comfortable environment for passengers and driver. The result is a superb vehicle that meets all these needs” The Stoke Volkswagen Van Centre is based on Leek New Road, Cobridge and the Crafter LWB conversion was by Stanford Coachworks.
