The Kaiser Chiefs will appear alongside Sir Paul McCartney at The Liverpool Sound. Further names for the June 1 concert at Anfield are to be announced in the coming weeks, including a very special international superstar guest. And after finalising a review of the stadium capacity, the Liverpool Culture Company is putting just over 4,000 new tickets on sale to the general public.


The first themed Monday Night Race evening of 2008 at Royal Windsor Racecourse is the all new Australia Night, sponsored by Trailfinders, on Monday 2nd June. The racing starts at 6.30pm and the evening’s entertainment continues after the last race with Faye Richards, who with her uncanny resemblance to Kylie and her great tribute act, is guaranteed to keep you ‘Spinning Around’ on the Paddock Lawn.


Tiger Promotions, the organisers of Dance Island 2008, has just revealed the full line-up for this summer’s newest dance festival. The event, which will take place on private land in Ely, Cambridgeshire over the weekend of 5-6 July, is set to include over 60 performers from the global dance scene.

The Camden Fringe takes place for a third consecutive year and to celebrate adds Camden People's Theatre as the third venue to host shows under the Camden Fringe banner. Three is indeed the magic number.


Zorro, with original music by the Gipsy Kings, will have its London Premiere at the Garrick Theatre on 15 July, following previews from 30 June. Directed by Christopher Renshaw, whose recent UK and Broadway credits include The King and I and We Will Rock You, the show will have choreography by internationally renowned Spanish choreographer and flamenco dancer Rafael Amargo.


A dance spectacular, 'Divas', choreographed and directed by Olivier Award and Evening Standard Award-winning Peter Schaufuss, pays homage to three of the world's greatest icons - Edith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich and Judy Garland - in one stunning production. Featuring original recordings from 'La Vie En Rose' to 'Falling in Love Again' and 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', 'Divas' celebrates each stars' art and individuality.


A huge house music event on May 2nd, entitled “Can You Bear It?”, will celebrate the life of ex-PSB assistant Dainton “The Bear” Connell. Pet Shop Boys will perform a short live set and be joined onstage for one song by Carl and Suggs from Madness. The night described as “celebrating 20 years of house music”, also features a galaxy of legendary house DJs including Danny Rampling, Judge Jules, Terry Farley, Nicky Holloway, Brandon Block, Dave Dorrell, Tall Paul and others.


BODY WORLDS 4 and the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) this week welcomed the 100,000th visitor to the exhibition. This achievement, less than eight weeks into the exhibition’s run, coincides with MOSI’s announcement that it has doubled its visitor numbers compared to the previous year.


Dickens Unplugged is a new musical comedy by American Adam Long. The show is an hilarious journey through the best of Dickens’ classic works and into the twisted corners of the author’s colourful life. Dickens Unplugged will open at the Comedy Theatre in London on Friday 23 May.
