25 years after helping to change the direction of British music, Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet are back together as Yazoo. The band are set to embark on a world tour taking in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Grammy-Award winning Youssou N’Dour - one of the most celebrated African musicians in history – will return to the UK in March 2008 for a show-stopping one-off gig at indigO2. N’Dour has been called ‘One of the world’s greatest singers’ by the New York Times, and ‘African artist of the century’ by fRoots.
The remarkable Joan Armatrading, one of Britain's greatest female artists, will play a one-off gig at London’s indigO2 on Friday 27th June 2008. The multi-award winning artist with 19 stunning albums to her credit, Joan's subtle and sublime music has touched millions of people all over the world.
Immediately following his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel last night, Leonard Cohen announced his world tour, marking a return to the live arena after 15 years.
Regarded as one of the most eclectic festivals in the world, WOMAD has become even more diverse with the introduction of a Drum n Bass event on Saturday 26 July. A new addition to WOMAD for 2008, this 2,000 capacity marquee will see some of the world’s most influential drum n bass artists take to the decks.
