Spanair celebrates launch of Munich - Bilbao route

25th April 2007 Print
Spanair is continuing its international expansion with this new route which has been offering daily flights both ways between the cities of Munich and Bilbao since April 15. The carrier has strengthened its presence on the German market by offering more direct flights between Germany and Spain. Spanair is also offering daily flights both ways between the Bavarian capital and Barcelona.

These flights also allow for a wide range of connections with the company's extensive network, as well as with many German cities and other international destinations via Star Alliance member companies, such as Lufthansa, Austrian or Swiss, with whom Spanair works closely in order to provide a high quality service.

"The incorporation of these flights reinforces Spanair's position on the German market; one in which the company has very consolidated routes, such as Madrid - Frankfurt, and Valencia - Munich, as well as that launched last October between Madrid and Stuttgart", stated Lars Nygaard, Spanair's managing director. "By means of these new routes, the airline is able to satisfy the growing demand generated by Munich as an important business centre, offering timetables which are specially adapted to business travel", he added.

Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights, operated with a fleet of 64 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 150 destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
