Deluxe hotel opens in Estonia’s capital The international hotel chain Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has opened a new deluxe hotel in the Estonian capital today - the Swissôtel Tallinn, Estonia. The building is now the tallest in the Estonian capital, and offers spectacular views of the historic Old Town as well as across the Baltic Sea.

The elegant 30-storey hotel lies within Tallinn’s financial quarter, the so-called “Wall Street of Tallinn”, and is consequently in the direct vicinity of leading banks and company offices. The Old Town with its distinctive cobblestones can be reached by foot in 10 minutes and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1997.

The airport and the main railway station are also only 15 minutes away, and the passenger ferry terminal can be reached in only 10 minutes. In short, the hotel is ideally located for business and leisure travellers.

The 238 rooms and suites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and offer sophisticated guests every possible amenity. Three executive floors, an executive lounge as well as meeting rooms provide favourable settings for the needs of business travellers. High-speed wireless internet access, ISDN and an espresso machine round off the fixtures and fittings of the luxurious rooms.

The Horisont Restaurant & Bar is certain to develop into one of Tallinn’s culinary highlights. This venue merely offers unique panoramic views, but also pampers diners with gastronomic extravagance. International dishes, traditional Swiss specialities as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are served at Café Swiss on the eighth storey of the hotel.

Estonia’s largest ballroom (455m²), two meeting rooms and a boardroom guarantee successful events of every possible nature at a central location. When it comes to rest and relaxation, the Amrita Spa & Wellness is available with a swimming pool, fitness room, sauna, steam bath and treatment rooms. The extensive range of hotel services is completed with the No.3 Deli-Lounge Bar, a business centre, valet parking and an underground car park.

“In recent years, Tallinn’s economy has expanded at a furious pace, and is seen as a key link between East and West”, explains Meinhard Huck, Managing Director Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts.

“We have successfully operated the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy in Moscow for a number of years, and recently signed a management agreement for a Swissôtel in Novosibirsk. So our new hotel in Tallinn represents a further milestone in our expansion in Eastern Europe.”

Michael Koltes, General Manager at the new hotel, previously General Manager at the Swissôtel The Howard in London, adds: “In addition to its development into an international business centre, Tallinn has also become a popular leisure destination.

“With its outstanding mediaeval architecture in the Old Town, it is not for nothing that it has been named a UNESCO world heritage. In addition, Tallinn has many shopping centres, a newly-renovated airport and a fast-growing freight and passenger harbour. We are looking forward to offering Swiss hospitality in this extraordinary destination.”
