Park Hyatt Saigon - A Vietnamese residence in Saigon Park Hyatt Saigon, whose doors first opened on 15 July 2005, occupies a prime position overlooking the elegant Opera House, and is within easy reach of the international airport and business district. It is also within walking distance of cultural and historical sites such as the Reunification Palace, the HCMC People’s Committee, the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon and the Ben Thanh Market.

Designed by Damansara Architects and EDC Design from Malaysia, Park Hyatt Saigon seamlessly combines the nostalgic feel of the city’s French colonial history with 21st century technology and comfort. The bright ivory-toned building features an elegant and stylish French façade, while the lobby exudes an elegant residential atmosphere, enhanced by an original antique glass ceiling panel, inspired Indochine furniture, teak wooden floors and Oriental rugs.

Guests enjoy a wonderful view from the lobby into the Park Lounge, with its high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling louvered French windows, and have access to the ballroom, Opera restaurant and the colonial-style staircase that leads to the mezzanine floor.

Business Traveller Asia Pacific magazine has named Park Hyatt Saigon the “Best Business Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City” in its 2007 Annual Readers’ Choice Awards, which are based on the results of a reader survey held throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Besides this prestigious award, the hotel has also been awarded 2nd place in Best New Business Hotel in Asia Pacific. This esteemed accolade once again firmly positions Park Hyatt Saigon as the hotel of choice in the city.

Park Hyatt Saigon was also voted “Best Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City” in DestinAsian magazine - luxury travel and lifestyle magazine - in its 2nd and 3rd Annual Readers’ Choice Awards in February 2007 and 2008; in the AsiaMoney 2007 Travel Poll held by AsiaMoney magazine, a leading capital markets publication based in Hong Kong. The magazine boasts a global circulation among senior decision-makers from the corporate, investor and banking communities.

In addition, in November 2006, Park Hyatt Saigon was voted “Best Business Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City” in the 11th annual World’s Best Business Hotels poll conducted by Travel + Leisure magazine. More recently, Park Hyatt Saigon was awarded “Best Luxury Hotel” by TripAdvisor travel community for 2008.

Guestrooms

The hotel’s 252 guestrooms, including 21 suites, were designed to feel like a Vietnamese residence. Nine Park Deluxe Rooms and a Park Suite have direct pool deck access and private terraces, and all guestrooms feature insulated louvered windows and ceiling fans for a cosy residential feel.

The poster beds have high-quality white duvets in fleur de lys print, comfortable pillows and throw cushions. An armchair and ottoman, a work desk and framed black-and-white “past era” photographs complete the standard guestroom. All rooms are equipped with LCD televisions, dual line telephones, high-speed broadband Internet access, an in-room safe and bath amenities designed by the award-winning cosmetic Comfort Zone.

Restaurants and Bars

Park Hyatt Saigon has a Lounge and two restaurants – Opera and Square One – both decorated by the well-known Japanese interior design firm, Super Potato, which was commissioned to bring a contemporary accent to each of them.

Opera, located on the ground floor, is a casual and modern Italian restaurant featuring a large open kitchen and an al fresco dining terrace overlooking the Opera House. The all-day-dining restaurant serves breakfast, home-made pasta and pizza from a wood-burning oven, and meats and fish for dinner, all accompanied by fine wines from Tuscany, Veneto, Sicily and Umbria. Featuring minimalist Super Potato touches, Opera is an interesting contrast to the Indochine feel throughout the rest of the hotel. The wall finishing is composed of decorative earth-coloured roofing tiles, while the white oak dining tables are complemented by red and blue chairs.

Square One that was listed as one of 82 Hot Tables in Conde Nast Traveller 2006 is a smart, atmospheric and contemporary venue, designed with colourful Vietnamese-inspired latticework and brick patterns. It has five show kitchens offering authentic Vietnamese seafood and the best-quality Western steaks. The Western Grill, Vietnamese Steam and Wok area, a seafood counter with four fish tanks, a dessert counter, and a juice and tea area make up the gastronomic group of kitchens. Intimate dinners can be arranged in the two private rooms or two semi-private rooms.

Both restaurants offer dining venues and feature large floor-to-ceiling wine libraries with a wide selection of international wines.

Park Lounge, located on the ground floor, is an ideal setting for small social gatherings. With its louvered French windows, guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the city at any time of the day – in the morning over a breakfast of fine pastries; during the afternoon over High Tea served with Vietnamese treats and French inspired pastries; or in the evening enjoy live entertainment over the finest cognac or port.

The focal point of the Lounge is a baby grand piano, where the pianist provides live entertainment for guests in the evenings, playing lively chansons and soulful ballads. Comfortable lounge chairs and sofas set around tables create a living-room atmosphere that is complemented by teak wooden floors. Park Lounge’s bar is made of mahogany and features brass accents and a dark Emperado stone top, while its outdoor terrace faces a beautifully landscaped garden.

Spa and Fitness Centre

Xuan Spa, which means “spring” in Vietnamese, is located on the third floor and offers seven treatment rooms, each with private showers, changing areas and natural light, as well as one Vichy shower area. Three treatment rooms also include a private terrace overlooking the tropical garden pool area. The spa features award-winning Comfort Zone products from Italy and a hair salon that also offers manicure/pedicure services.

The fitness centre covers 120 square metres (397 square feet) and features the latest Life Fitness cardio equipment with personal LCD television screens and headphones. A 20-metre (215 square feet) outdoor swimming pool with water features is located next to a tropical garden.

Xuan Spa was voted as one of 150 world-class spas in the SpaAsia Annual Connoisseur Collection of the world's finest spas by SpaAsia magazine in Singapore (Mar/Apr 2007 issue). The Spa was also nominated by AsiaSpa magazine in Hong Kong as the Best Urban Spa of the Year in Asia at Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards 2006, and was listed as one of 55 Hot Spas in Conde Nast Traveller 2006.

Meeting Facilities

Park Hyatt Saigon offers stunning banquet and meeting facilities, including an elegant ballroom located on the lobby level that can accommodate up to 500 people for social cocktail events and 450 people for theatre-style conferences, and which also provides vehicular access. There are also four meeting rooms, two of which have terraces providing plenty of natural light, as well as two boardrooms; all these rooms are located on the mezzanine level and fully equipped with high-specification audio-visual and wireless broadband technologies.
