Jaz Hotels & Resorts set for 2009 expansion  Jaz Hotels & Resorts, a unique collection of highly regarded brands encompassing Jaz Resorts, Iberotel Hotels & Resorts, Sol Y Mar Resorts and the Travcotel Nile cruise fleet, is set for a major expansion in 2009 which will see more than 3000 rooms added to its portfolio of properties in and around the Red Sea.

A total of 11 new properties, opening between January and December 2009, will include Jaz branded five star hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Matrouh, Ain El Sokhna, Taba and Hurghada as well as Sol Y Mar branded four-star hotels in Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheikh and the newly opened five-star Iberotel Cairo Hotel and Casino.

The first Jaz branded resorts to open will include the five-star Jaz Little Venice Golf Resort in the idyllic Red Sea resort of Ain El Sokhna, only 90 minutes drive from the capital Cairo and Jaz Hotels & Resorts’ first property in the destination, offering 120 rooms. The five-star Jaz Royal Taba with 306 rooms, just 27 km from Taba International Airport is due to open in late winter 2009.

In March, the four-star Sol Y Mar Moreen Beach & Spa Resort in Marsa Alam will open with 208 rooms and May 09 will see the opening of the five-star Jaz Aquamarine in Hurghada with 804 rooms.

Summer 2009 will see two brand new openings at the new Egyptian Mediterranean resort of Almaza Bay in the historic area of Marsa Matrouh, the five-star Almaza Crystal with 262 rooms and the five-star Almaza Oriental with 212 rooms.

Later in the year, new openings in the popular Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh will include the four-star Sol y mar Sharks Bay Hotel with 138 rooms (June) and the five-star Jaz Bab El Shams with 578 rooms (Dec 2009).
