The club’s U11s and U13s teams represent Glapwell Colliery CC in the Mansfield Youth League and the Chesterfield Kwik Cricket League.

The club approached local businesses to secure sponsorship to help run the growing junior section.

Gleeson is currently building The Brambles, a new development of family homes in neighbouring Doe Lea. Sales Advisor, Sue Wright, said: “We were delighted to be able to help out the local junior cricket team. The club is really popular and provides a great facility to encourage local children to play sport. We have had lots of interest in The Brambles from families and we hope children new to the area will go along to play cricket.”

Glapwell Colliery Cricket Club has been a member of the Bassetlaw League since being formed in 1892. John Ritchie, manager of the youth team, said: “We are very grateful for Gleeson’s kind sponsorship and our juniors are now the envy of the league. It is not easy running a junior section but gestures like this make such a difference. Now we just have to hope our performances match our appearance!”

Gleeson is building over one hundred 3 and 4-bedroom homes at The Brambles with a range of house styles. Prices start from £142,995.

For more information visit the sales centre on West Street, Doe Lea, open daily between 10.00am and 5.00pm.
