Mercedes-Benz and Holler are getting sociable

Mercedes-Benz UK has appointed specialist digital and social media agency, Holler, to assist with the automotive brand’s social engagement activity.
 
The appointment highlights the enthusiasm Mercedes-Benz has to progress within the growing medium of social media, supporting the brand’s ambition to appeal to a younger audience with a number of new cars.  Mercedes-Benz UK already boasts an impressive number of Twitter and YouTube followers, as well as a dedicated smart forum, Destination smart.
 
Holler, who will set to work from the 1 June 2012, has a proven track record in delivering social outreach and community management projects. Its involvement with Mercedes-Benz UK will include working with the automotive brand in order to develop a business wide social media strategy, which integrates fully with current and future marketing campaigns. The agency will help to create an exciting and engaging social web presence for the brand as well as supporting customers’ direct feedback and questions as quickly as possible.
 
Marketing Director David George explained: “We are keen to expand our online community and engage followers with exciting and exclusive content. Mercedes-Benz UK currently has an online community of almost 150,000 engaged users, consisting of multiple twitter accounts (@smartfortwoUK @MercedesBenzUK, @MercedesBenzSLS and @MercedesLFW) that currently have over 80,000 followers.
 
There are also three Facebook pages with a total of 70,000 likes, three YouTube channels have also accrued over 1.1 million views and three active blogs which currently attract 2,000 visitors per month.
