The tastes of South America are coming to a tiny Warwickshire village when a special food and wine tasting evening is held at The Peacock in Oxhill on Tuesday May 25.

Empanadas, quesadillas, fajitas and anticuchos de carne chimichurri are just some of the dishes that will be available while the wines of the continent will be introduced by Alastair MacBrayne, of Warwick-based Dorjes Wine Company, and three international wine experts who are in the country for the London Wine Tasting Festival.

The pub has won a number of national awards for its food and has recently done theme night for Portuguese, Italian and Scottish food, when free double whiskeys were offered to any male guests wearing kilts.

The Peacock chef and joint owner Yvonne Hamlett said: “There may be sombreros and there may be some dancing on hats, but on the whole it will just be great food and drink and lots of fun.”
