Yellowbike launches in the New Forest

Electric bikes are now available for hire to tourists and visitors in and around Lyndhurst in the New Forest through a new business called The Yellow Bike Company.

Yellowbike will appeal more to leisure break travellers who wish to see a relaxed view of the New Forest and surrounding towns and villages. This will allow Yellowbike to fulfil the needs of travellers with “green” credentials and those who wish to try an alternative, cost effective approach to sightseeing.

Electric bicycles are in fact power-assisted cycles; a small battery is activated by gentle peddling, enabling the cycle to increase speed to 15.5 miles per hour and travel for approximately 30 miles on one battery. Introduced to the UK 12 years ago, the market has grown from 13,000 electric bikes in 2008 to over 25,000 in 2010.

Yellowbike hires electric bicycles for just £22.50 for a full day or for £15.00 for a part day if any are available on the day.

Visitors are welcome to come and try the bikes and see for themselves how different they are to riding a normal pedal bike. Electric bikes offer a new, different and exhilarating way to enjoy a fun day out on the roads and cycle tracks in the New Forest.
