This year, four of Britain’s best loved comics will face the battle of a lifetime, as they campaign fiercely for their limited edition flavours of Walkers crisps.

They will fight to win the hearts of the British public as well as raise money for this year’s Red Nose Day in a bid to make their flavour the bestseller, and reign above their fellow funny-men! The rules of combat are simple - for every special flavour pack sold Walkers will donate 5p to Comic Relief and the comedian whose flavour raises the most will win. The losing three will face the torturous forfeit of being waxed in front of their peers and the public; with a mystery ‘beautician’ on hand to ensure the penalty runs as smoothly as possible!  The triumphant winner will be announced on Red Nose Day on 18th March.

The public can now taste the delicious new flavours inspired by some of Britain’s best loved dishes and get behind their favourite. The four mighty comedians and their flavours are; Stephen Fry and Stephen Fry Up Flavour, Jimmy Carr and Jimmy Con Carrne Flavour, Al Murray and Steak and Al Pie Flavour, and Frank Skinner and Frank Roast Dinner Flavour. These mischievous comedians will be putting blood, sweat and tears into the battle, and no doubt pulling out some cheeky sabotage tactics along the way to rise to victory.

“Walkers loves having a laugh and Red Nose Day is a great way to have fun and raise money for a brilliant cause,” said Miranda Sambles, Marketing Director for Walkers. “So to help us achieve our goal of raising over £1m, we’ve enlisted these four well-loved British comedians who, along with their delicious new crisp flavours, will be going into battle in our Clash of the Comics! May the best man win!”

Stephen Fry said, “I am proud to champion the great Fry Up flavour. My crisps perfectly embody each delicious component of the great British fry up, with layer upon layer of quivering, shivering tastes that keep on giving. It is plain to all that my flavour is infinitely superior to the others, so I look forward to flattening the rather pitiful competition with the frying pan of triumph.”

Jimmy Carr said, "What motivated my choice of Chilli Con Carrne was obviously a really bad pun, but as luck would have it they're delicious. I'm pretty confident I won't get waxed. The hair on my legs is safer than the hair in a German ladies arm pit. And remember, every packet sold raises money for a great cause!”

Al Murray, The Pub Landlord said, “What sounds more delicious than Steak and Al Pie crisps?! This is the food of the Brits - I’m going to win this on flavour alone! If Jimmy Carr thinks he can beat me with a bit of chilli then he has another thing coming. This is war!”

Frank Skinner said, “All my life I've searched for something that was truly worth fighting for - something noble, uplifting and made from potatoes; then came Frank's Roast Dinner crisps. No other comic-championed crisp can be allowed to stand in my way. This is my time. Wake up and smell the gravy!”

Gary Lineker said, “It’s been brilliant working with these four comedians – they are extremely funny guys and whoever wins or loses, this is going to be a great competition. And more importantly, it is going to raise a lot of money for people who need it, so make sure you get behind them!”
